How to read your result
Contribution per unit is price minus variable costs and allocated transaction fees. Monthly fixed costs divided by contribution give continuous break-even volume; whole-unit requirements round up. Payback divides startup investment by positive modeled monthly profit and assumes steady volume.
Common questions
What are variable costs?
Costs that increase as you sell another unit, such as materials, delivery labor, and transaction fees.
What if contribution is zero or negative?
Positive-volume break-even is unavailable under these assumptions. More sales cannot offset a nonpositive unit contribution.
Is startup payback the same as break-even?
No. Operating break-even covers monthly costs; payback estimates recovery of startup spending.
